Outdoor Coaching |

If you’ve ever come back from a day out in the open, e.g. on the moors, along a coastal path or up in the high mountains of Scotland, Wales or England, you might well have benefited from the sort of clear thinking that good, hard, physical exercise brings. We have and that’s why as part of our service we offer an outdoor alternative to the regular office-based activity so many of us are used to.
We are able to offer this because we have very strong connections to some really excellent former Royal Marines Commandos who have the deepest experience of summer and winter expeditions to some of the most challenging environments. And they’ve also seen service in some of the worlds’ ’hot spots’. |
|
We are not suggesting that you undertake arduous multi-day expeditions with us, (but if you want to, we’ll try and organise something appropriate for you!), rather we are here to work with you if you would like a one-to-one day away or a two-day experience outside of the office, in a challenging, inspirational environment.
Nothing false or contrived will be provided. This is about taking you (and your team if you wish) into different places where you can either just enjoy a day’s mountain walking at a good standard or something a little more formal with some facilitated learning afterwards. The choice is yours. |
|
In an informal way our one-to-one days are as much about guided conversations as they are guided walks. You could see it as executive coaching in the outdoors, with the emphasis on creating dialogue with you that lasts throughout the day. If on the other hand, you like to concentrate on your mountaineering and just catch-up when you stop for a breather, that’s fine too. Whatever your style is we can respond to that. It is after all your day out. |

More formally, we can of course develop and run events where the exercises are more geared towards group challenges and team working, with good quality facilitation afterwards so that nothing of the learning is lost and your team takes away a sense of achievement, improved self-awareness and team understanding.
We are often in the mountains ourselves, checking out good locations for activities with clients and building our experience and knowledge of what works for individuals and teams. We won’t ask you to try anything we wouldn’t do and ‘macho’ is not one of our preferred styles of activity, i.e. no hanging off vertical faces of rock – that’s for others.
